But in order to fully appreciate how an alkaline body helps in our daily living, it is imperative to know the components of an alkaline diet and the importance of maintaining the pH of our body.</p><p>pH refers to the measure of acidity or basicity of a solution. More accurately, it pertains to the extent of dissociation of hydrogen ions of our body. If we consume the right types and amounts of nutrients and minerals conducive to our body&#8217;s development, our body is able to maintain the right pH balance. But you may wonder for a moment what exactly are the &#8216;right&#8217; nutrients and minerals? This is where alkaline diet comes into the picture.</p><p>The concept of alkaline diet is ultimately about foods that leaves an alkaline residue in our body after digestion. Sew the long seam. Cut out a circle to fit the opening of the tube, and sew in place. Sew a one-inch hem at the top, leaving the ends open. Turn bag inside out, and run a drawstring through the hem. Your yoga bag is ready to use.</p><p>Make a Yoga Mat</p><p>Yoga mats are pretty cheap in the first place, but if you really want to save money, you can make your own in just a few minutes. All you need is a piece of carpet underlay, which is soft on top and will grip the floor. You may have scraps left over from home carpeting projects, or, you can pick up remnants at flooring stores for just a couple of dollars, or free. Cut a piece the size of a regular yoga mat, and you’re all set. So called cool food like Ice-cream &amp; cold water will also generate heat in your body. Refrigerated foods will initially cool our body but after 15 minutes of intake generate excess heat.</p><p>3)      Fully ripe sweet fruits like mango, cherries, avocadoes &amp; watermelon are good to cool your body. Avoid salty &amp; fried food. A simple clue to eat fruits of the season.</p><p>4)      Avoid carrots, beets &amp; tomato. Instead of these feast on green leafy vegetables, cabbage, lettuce, cucumber, pumpkin &amp; beans.  Chinese have a very simple definition of <em>yang </em> ( heat inducing food). They say that vegetables that grow in sun are cooling &amp; vegetables that grow without sun are heaty food.</p><p>5)      Surprisingly, milk &amp; white butter are considered good for clearing <em>pitta/ </em>reducing heat from the body.</p><p>As a very basic guideline let’s eat food stuff with lots of water in them.
