Staying fit in office

Tips for a healthy day in office:
Today, I read some of my previous posts & realized that I may have started sounding like a Granny! Let me clarify that I have a full time job which keeps me pretty busy & an 8 year old son at home who is even more demanding than my job. Where does all this leave time for exercise? More & more of my friends are spending increasing amounts of time within their cubicles glued to their monitor. Here are a few tips for people who spend more than 6 hours a day sitting at their desk.
- Hit the stairs. This an oldie, let me suggest a variation: Taking 2 steps at a time will phenomenally increase the calories you burn in the process. (Please do not try this while climbing down the stairs.)
- Park your vehicle further away from the building. This may be the only walk you get in the whole day.
- Keep your phone on the ground, this way you will end up doing crunches every time the phone rings. (This is my favourite one)
- Set an alarm every hour. Let this alarm be a reminder to get up from the chair & a conscious decision to move around.
- Pay special attention to ergonomics.

correct posture
Make sure the feet is on the ground.
Use a wrist pad while typing on the computer, a folded towel will work just fine.
Ensure proper support to your lower back.
Place the monitor & eye level & reduce the brightness of the monitor.
- Stretch both your wrists & fold into a fist.
- Here is a tummy burner & best part is that your colleagues will not even catch you doing this. “Exhale & hold your butt, stomach & thigh muscles as tightly as possible”. Do this routine as many times as possible
- Drink lots & lots of water.
- This is an after office tip. Usually all special evenings have an eat out included in it. Be creative & start planning get- together that is activity based.
With work & busy lives we need all the excersice we can can while sitting in the office .

well its actually a great thing, many hmm not many but actually most of the people working in office might never have thought of such easy ways to exercise in this way, which is really easy and helps to have a lot of calories burnt, and stay fit even while they are in their busiest of their schedule like some of our faculties in my college…..
